Rain in the Forecast? See a Game in a Dome
A rainy day doesn't have to sink your Japan itinerary. Several NPB baseball teams play in fully roofed dome stadiums, where games go ahead whatever the weather — no cancellations, no ponchos. There are currently 194 upcoming games at 6 domed stadiums on the schedule. This page updates automatically every week.

☔ What about open-air baseball and football?
- Open-air baseball: games can be postponed or cancelled in heavy rain. Decisions are made by the home club, often close to first pitch — check the club's official site or social media on game day. Light drizzle usually doesn't stop play.
- J.League football: football plays through rain as a rule — matches are only stopped for dangerous conditions such as lightning or typhoons. Bring a rain jacket (umbrellas are typically not usable in the stands).
💡 Rainy-day game tips
- Domes are climate-controlled — comfortable in midsummer heat and rainy season alike.
- All domes on this page are reachable by train, so you can skip the weather entirely: station → concourse in minutes.
- June–July is Japan's rainy season (tsuyu) and August–October brings typhoons — if your trip falls in these windows, a dome game is the safest "can't be rained out" plan on your itinerary.
